This multi-day trip took in a range of sites on the journeys there and back, together with sites, museums and collections in the Murchison and Reefton areas. 

Highlights included:

• the Longford Syncline
• Iron Bridge and the Owen river terraces
• Tertiary plant fossils in Nuggety Creek 
• Echo coal mine
• Murchison Museum
• the Reefton School of Mines
• the private fossil collection of one of our members from Reefton (see here) 
• Maruia Valley
